Winter Storage Tips for Fuel-Powered Tourist Vehicles

In the north, winter is cold and slippery, and the number of tourists has decreased. Many scenic spots have stored fuel-powered sightseeing vehicles and will use them again when the tourist season arrives next year.

Due to long-term storage and improper maintenance, the performance of the vehicle will deteriorate. How to carry out the maintenance work before入库 (entry into storage) to ensure that the vehicle's performance is not affected? The following points should be noted

Keep the battery fully charged.

Because a low-temperature environment is not favorable for batteries, the capacitance of batteries in such conditions will be much lower than at normal temperatures. Therefore, it is necessary to properly maintain the batteries during winter. When choosing a fuel-powered tourist vehicle for storage, check the storage condition of the battery. If the battery voltage is insufficient, it needs to be fully charged. Additionally, if the battery wiring can be cleaned at the same time and coated with special grease for protection, it will be more beneficial for extending the battery's lifespan. Moreover, in winter, the vehicle will be left idle outdoors for a long time. It is recommended that you remove the battery and store it in a warmer place to prevent freezing.

2. Be careful to protect the antifreeze and the engine oil.

The engine is the heart of the fuel-powered car. If the vehicle is left unused for a long time in winter, it will also be damaged. The importance of maintenance is self-evident. Antifreeze and engine oil are extremely important for the maintenance of the engine.

When storing vehicles in winter, the most important thing is to ensure the presence of antifreeze. Generally speaking, the normal service life of antifreeze is two years. It needs to be replaced when it reaches the expiration date. If during vehicle repair or emergency situations, the antifreeze has already contained ordinary water, then even if it is used for less than two years, the antifreeze must be replaced in winter. When using antifreeze, the freezing point of the antifreeze should be selected according to different regions. When the vehicle is manufactured, the freezing point of the added antifreeze is generally around minus 25 degrees Celsius. The freezing point value can be known from the brand of the antifreeze. Generally, the liquid freezing point of the antifreeze is 5 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature of the vehicle's operating area.

Furthermore, there is the issue of oil. If the winter-specific engine oil is not replaced in time, the car will have difficulty starting in the cold weather the following year, and even problems such as cylinder wear and shaft seizure may occur. Therefore, when winter arrives, the engine oil should be promptly replaced with the winter-specific type.

3. Pay attention to the fuel that is to be stored for a long time.

Gasoline stored for several months may deteriorate. Of course, the gasoline in the tank can be drained out, but doing so may cause the tank and fuel lines to rust due to moisture. Therefore, when storing in winter, the fuel sightseeing vehicle must be placed in a relatively dry place, and the amount of gasoline in the tank should not be too much. Use gasoline with a higher grade to ensure the sealing of the tank. Users with the condition can drain the gasoline in the tank and add new fuel when using it next year.

Also, even if the vehicle is left idle for a long time, remember to start it once a month and run it for about 20 minutes. Keep moving the car frequently and avoid having the tires remain in the same position for a long time, as this can cause the tires to lose their round shape.

Regarding the above matters, we hope that they can provide some assistance to both new and old users when preparing to store the fuel-powered sightseeing vehicles. This will ensure that the vehicles are undamaged and safely overwintered, thereby creating good economic benefits for you.
