Police patrol cars are very common. Whether in tourist attractions, parks, campuses, streets, etc., especially in tourist attractions, they not only provide comfort for tourists but also create a harmonious and safe tourism environment. So, let's take a look together at how patrol cars can be used for a longer period of time!

Do not store with insufficient power.

The battery of the patrol vehicle must not be left in a power-off state during storage. A power-off state refers to the situation where the battery is not charged immediately after use. Storing the battery in a power-loss state can lead to sulfation, where crystals of lead sulfate adhere to the plates and block the channels for electric ions, resulting in insufficient charging and a decrease in battery capacity. The longer the idle time in a damaged state, the more severe the battery damage will be. Therefore, by charging the battery once a month when it is not in use, the battery's condition can be well maintained.

Regular inspection

During use, if the driving distance of the patrol vehicle suddenly drops by more than 10 kilometers in a short period of time, it is likely that one of the batteries in the battery pack is faulty. In this case, it is necessary to promptly have it inspected, repaired or re-grouped at the sales center or the repair department of the agent. As a result, the lifespan of the battery pack can be extended.

Avoid excessive current discharge

When the patrol vehicle starts, carries passengers, or climbs uphill, it should try to avoid suddenly stepping on the accelerator to prevent a sudden large current discharge. Such a discharge can easily cause the formation of lead crystals, thereby damaging the physical properties of the battery panel.

Accurately determine the charging time

During use, the charging time should be accurately determined based on the actual situation. Refer to the usage frequency and mileage to determine the charging frequency. When driving normally, if the meter shows red and yellow lights, charging should be carried out; if only the red light is left, stop the operation immediately and charge as soon as possible. Otherwise, the battery will over-discharge and its lifespan will be significantly shortened. If the working time after full charging is short, it will be charged. Do not let the charging time be too long. Excessive charging causes the battery to heat up. Overcharging, over-discharging, and insufficient charging will shorten the battery's lifespan. Generally speaking, the average charging time for a battery is about 10 hours. Please stop charging if the battery temperature exceeds 65 degrees.

Prevent sunburn

The patrol vehicle should not be exposed to the sunlight. In an environment with excessively high temperature, the internal pressure of the battery increases, the battery loses moisture, and the battery's activity decreases.

Avoid overheating during the charging process

If the 220-volt power plug and the output plug of the patrol vehicle are loose or the contact surfaces are oxidized, it will cause the plugs to heat up. If the heating lasts for a long time, it will lead to a short circuit and poor contact of the plugs, damaging the charger and the battery, resulting in unnecessary losses. Therefore, if such a situation is found, please remove the oxide or replace the connectors promptly.

The above information explains how police patrol vehicles can be made to operate for a longer period of time. If you want to know more, please feel free to contact us at any time!
